Llubí Wild Garden

A low-maintenance country escape structured with wildflowers and fire

Llubí Wild Garden

Llubí garden, our landscape design focuses on creating an aesthetic, functional, and sustainable space. First, we prioritized water conservation by avoiding lawns. Instead, we opted for a large gravel area to reduce irrigation needs.

Next to the house wall, we installed gravel stabilizers to create a solid foundation. As a result, this provides an ideal space for morning coffee or outdoor dining. Additionally, an umbrella sits at the highest point of the garden. This placement offers a panoramic view and allows for full enjoyment of the Mediterranean surroundings.

To break the monotony of the gravel, we introduced islands of rosemary and lavender. Specifically, we alternated these species across five long, narrow (7m x 2m each) . As these plants mature, they will partially cover the gravel and provide a vibrant color contrast. Furthermore, five islands of wildflowers serve as seasonal focal points throughout the space.

In the center of the garden, we incorporated a fireplace. This element creates a perfect gathering spot for family and friends. To provide natural shade, we planted three Jacarandas around this central area. Ultimately, the design emphasizes low maintenance and a wild, natural character through a high density of wildflowers.
