Palma Penthouse Terrace
A high-altitude Mediterranean sanctuary resistant to wind and sun
The intervention stems from a sensitive reading of the site: solar orientation, wind exposure, sea and city views, and transitions between indoors and outdoors. The goal was to endow the space with a clear vegetative identity, using species adapted to the Mediterranean climate, low-maintenance, and with strong visual presence—capable of dialoguing with the urban landscape and contemporary architecture.
The design is structured around large-format linear planters that outline the functional zones and house a botanical composition alternating green masses, contrasting textures, and controlled heights. This layout defines without compartmentalizing, creating differentiated areas for lounging, gathering, and contemplation.
Chamaerops humilis and Phoenix roebelenii: compact, resilient palms suited for elevated, windy environments.
Rhapis excelsa, Cycas revoluta, and Monstera deliciosa: provide density, texture, and foliage diversity across mid and lower strata.
