Honoring the original contours and rocky slopes of Calvià
This project honors the natural incline of the Mallorca landscape, utilizing its original ravines and slopes as the structural foundation. By rejecting land leveling in favor of rockeries and plant masses, the design achieves a seamless, organic integration.
The topography of this garden inherently defined its character. The terrain descends in natural slopes, forming a small ravine that connects the residence with the surrounding Mediterranean landscape. Rather than altering the elevations, the design respects and utilizes them as the foundational structural element.
The garden was developed along this natural incline using rockeries and plant masses to stabilize the soil and mirror the land's original contour. Stone elements structure the space, allowing vegetation to integrate organically as if it had always been part of the site.
The slope is softened with resilient groundcovers including Agapanthus africanus, Chlorophytum comosum and Asparagus densiflorus. The result is a garden that follows, respects and enhances the natural terrain in harmonious balance with the Mallorcan landscape.
