Finca Garden Inca

A two-dimensional layout with height perspectives and natural colour

Finca Garden Inca

This design presents an interesting two-dimensional layout. The garden is elevated one metre above the level of the house and pool and is divided into two distinct zones: an existing lawn area and a pathway area to be designed with gravel.

To naturally separate the two zones, Pittosporum tobira nana has been chosen, known for its rounded shape and minimal pruning requirements. These shrubs create a pleasant visual separation between the lawn and gravel pathway.

The gravel pathway widens in the centre to provide a space for enjoyment. It connects to the lawn area from two different points and spans the entire garden, ending on the other side.

Along the pathway, a series of planters are created to offer height perspectives, ensuring that the foreground plants do not obstruct the background ones. Smaller shrubs are placed naturally in the front, while larger ones are positioned towards the back. Additionally, small wildflower plants are strategically placed along sections of the pathway, without obstructing the shrubs in the flower beds.
